Marco Flammang Great newish artist from Porto! A pleasure to see in concert, too... Best enjoyed with a 1920s suit and a Singapore Sling in reach. Favorite track: Under The Moon.

about

“All way from Lisbon, Portugal comes Rita Braga. This charming and beautiful Ukulele queen with a voice of velvet plays a brilliant mishmash of sound. Combining Julee Cruise esque Lounge with a strange mix of folk ranging from Serbian, Hawaiian, and Appalachian Mountain music, Rita Braga’s sound is truly unique and refreshing.”

Rita Braga's debut album CHERRIES THAT WENT TO THE POLICE, produced by Bernardo Devlin, features guest musicians Chris Carlone (Borts Minorts) on the slide guitar, piano, banjo, whip, drums and ski bass, Nik Phelps (Tom Waits, Frank Zappa) on the clarinet, Yvette Dudoit (Fort King) on the slide guitar, Jef Hogan-Buffa (Amanda Jo Williams), Rui Dâmaso (Loosers), Hernani Faustino (Red Trio) and Ignatz B.

CHERRIES THAT WENT TO THE POLICE was recorded in beautiful home studios in Lisbon, Philadelphia, Ghent, Los Angeles and Buenos Aires, and mixed by Bernardo Devlin in Lisbon. The cover art is a drawing by Aleksandar Zograf.
